Meet Dr. Olson

Dr. Suzette Olson, DDS, grew up in Brainerd, MN with a love and appreciation for the outdoors and small town living. She graduated from Central Lakes College with her Associate in Arts Degree.  Next she graduated Cum Laude from the University of MN-Duluth with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. While in college, she spent her spare time volunteering as a college Math and English tutor and donated her time at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth in the Pharmacy Department.

Dr. Olson then pursued her dream of becoming a dentist (sparked in her by her dentist, Dr. Jack Echternacht, DDS) by attending the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Minneapolis. Suzette graduated in 2001 near the top of her class and was given an award as the top dental student in oral pathology.  She has been at First Avenue Dental ever since.  “I am so lucky to have a career I love! I spend my days meeting and getting to know people, all the while treating dental problems, beautifying smiles, educating, resolving fears and making people of all ages feel better.”

Currently Dr. Olson resides in the Brainerd Lakes Area where she enjoys spending time with family, taking continuing education classes, baking, genealogy, ballroom and Latin dancing, traveling, snowmobiling, gardening, and photography. Keeping in touch with friends and colleagues are important to her.  She is proud to have been a huge part of forming the Mac Carkhuff Foundation, a  non-profit in which she worked for over a decade to raise money through a charity golf event. Funds were raised and as a result a Brainerd High School Scholar Athlete has been awarded a sizable scholarship annually since 2006.

Dr. Suzette Olson practices all areas of General Dentistry for all ages including but not limited to: Cosmetics, Crowns, White and Silver fillings, Partials, Root Canals, Restoring Implants, Extractions and most recently she is now a certified provider of Invisalign (clear braces).  She is also a member of the Minnesota Dental Association.
